Emface Treatment

Here are the key points on the first-of-its kind eye treatment that targets fine lines, dark circles and puffiness

The delicate skin around the eyes is one of the first areas to show signs of ageing and exhaustion. Until now, rejuvenating the periorbital region (the area surrounding the socket) meant choosing between injectables, surgery or laser treatments. Described as a non-surgical eye-lift, EmFace Eyes offers a non-invasive way to lift, smooth and strengthen the skin in this region, without needles, downtime or discomfort.

Clinical studies show that EmFace increases collagen by 26 per cent, doubles elastin levels and improves muscle tone by 30 per cent. As someone keen to refresh eye area but hesitant about the downtime of laser treatments and wary of filler migration in such a delicate region, this certainly sounds like a more natural approach to rejuvenation.

What is EmFace Eyes?

Building on the success of EmFace for the cheeks, forehead and jawline, this new applicator targets the lower eyelids, making it perfect for those wanting to tackle fine lines, crow’s feet, dark circles and under-eye bags. EmFace Eyes targets the root cause of ageing around the periorbital area by strengthening the lower eyelid muscles, restoring their ability to support the skin and addressing eye bags caused by the protrusion of fat pads. It improves skin texture, softens fine lines and wrinkles and helps with dark circles and puffiness by boosting circulation and lymphatic drainage. What’s great is that it’s needle-free, knife-free and downtime-free.

What to expect during the EmFace Eyes treatment

During the 30-minute session, the applicators are placed under the eyes where they simultaneously emit radio frequency (RF) and high-intensity focused electrical stimulation (HIFES) energies. “The RF stimulates the collagen and elastin fibres within the dermal layers to thicken the skin. As we age, our muscles lose tone and when we trigger electrical contraction in the muscles using HIFES, it stimulates muscle density growth and the formation of new muscle fibres, which strengthens and tones. Studies have shown that the treatment stimulates the myonuclei by 20 per cent which plays a key role in muscle growth and regeneration.

Who is EmFace Eyes suitable for?

The treatment is suitable for all skin tones and types:recommends it for anyone aged over 25 who is beginning to notice changes in the periorbital area; the treatment works as both a preventative and corrective solution. As we age, the orbicularis oculi muscle, which is the key muscle responsible for under eye support, starts to weaken, causing a drooping appearance. This also causes the muscle to separate, allowing the fat pads located behind the muscle to seep through, leading to the appearance of under-eye bags. You would need a lower lid blepharoplasty to treat this. However, with this treatment, we can address the problem before the signs of ageing become pronounced. For those in their 30s, it's like ‘banking’ muscle and collagen. The 40s are also a perfect time to start, as this is when you begin to see muscle ageing. And even for those in their 50s and beyond, we’re reducing the need for surgery by preventing muscle degeneration and future eye bag development,” she adds.

How many treatments do you need?

For optimal results, a series of four sessions is recommended, spaced one week apart. You get an immediate tightening of the muscle and then the stimulation of the collagen and elastin over time, with true results becoming visible after 90 days as the collagen tightens and matures. The effects can last for a year or more. EmFace Eyes is also safe to use alongside dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections.
